Commissioned by New Dimensions, Songs for Wild Horses was created by acclaimed Norwegian musicians Nils Økland and Øyvind Skarbø. Over the course of a year they worked with local musicians and singers at Coda Music Centre in the New Forest, and created a piece which explored the forest traditions and music of Norway and the New Forest. Along the way a number of 'pop up' performances took place, including on the beach at Milford on Sea, and at The Observatory, Keyhaven. The project culminated in October 2015 with a promenade performance at The Treehouses at Beaulieu, where the audience was taken on a musical journey through the forest.
