For the past 10 years I have produced a programme of contemporary art for WOMAD Charlton Park, the UK's biggest world music festival. WOMAD World of Art enables festival-goers to experience and engage with the work of international artists. Artists that have created or presented work for WOMAD include Barthélémy Toguo, Neville Gabie, Graeme Miller, Sol Calero and OPAVIVARA! and Yazz Ahmed (see Project archive).
For WOMAD 2023 we hosted Luke Jerram’s Museum of the Moon, an extraordinary fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and sound. The project included Moonscales, a specially commissioned sound work by sound artist, nature beatboxer and producer Jason Singh. Sited in WOMAD’s Secret Forest, the installation was accompanied by a live programme of music and spoken word.
